My Year Eight students recently published a book.
Yep, a real, hard-cover, glossy, going-into-the-library-for-loan book.
And we are all so excited.
At the end of last term we did a bit of a fill-in activity writing Aussie Psalms. The kids were challenged to take a psalm and rewrite it using Aussie vernacular. The results were great. At about the same time, I discovered blurb, an online book making tool.
Long story short… We’ve published out work into a book. You can check it out here.
What did it cost us? About $1 each (and a few hours of my time putting the images and text together).
What did we gain? An authentic, global audience and a real sense of acomplishment.
I’ll definitely do it again!
